This still has that heavy European feel to it. Even in English

I must say, I enjoyed this film. It was a break from all these block buster comic book films coming out. Before I watched this I got a hint that it was a European remake. Nothing new, Hollywood does this often. However, as universal as cheating is the world over, the reactions and attitudes towards cheating in this film did not feel as though this was written and directed for an "American" or Western film maker. I have lived in Europe for a number of years and in Australia. A number of the peoples reactions are more in tone with how almost causal the married couples deal with cheating with one another. The conversations they have, their reaction and treatment towards the subject is almost pure European. In fact cheating here is semi glorified, everybody knows who is doing it, some of the spouses play dumb and act like they don't. Some have been raised to know it is common practice. Especially among men. Watching this film played out by English speaking actors feels like this film could not work in reality if it really happened in the U.S, though if it were to have happened in France or another part of Europe, I would find it to be more credible. This is one of the few European/American remakes to have really put out that vibe for me. But I still liked it. Thumbs up.
