Are the rumors true about cancellation?

I just read some rumors that season five is canceled after the creator of the show left. I thought they were already filming the new season. Is this true about the cancellation rumors?

A few small gaming websites have been reporting this since the weekend, and so its gotten on to twitter. But none of the big news websites have said anything, as far as I have personally seen. Plus its December already. I wouldn't be surprised if they hadn't already filmed a bulk of it already and are in post.

Many, many episodes of the new season have already been filmed at considerable expense. Google local Baltimore-area papers for announcements of street closings all the later half of this year.

You think Season 5 is wrap up season?

No direct knowledge on this

I think so, and it'd be rightfully so. This is the season where one or more of the following could happen. Frank continues to be who he was and manipulates Claire as usual. Or both could work together (which is very probable, considering how the previous season progressed) and gain even more prominence. Or the news daily that did the investigation goes deeper, corners this couple and exposes their true colors, bringing this to a very good closure.

In any case, as much as I like this show, I hate to admit there's no need for a 6th season. Good TV shows sometimes need to be short and sweet.

Your mind makes it real.

You mean considerable expense as for is it expensive for a film crew to close a street in Baltimore? Do you think that indulging in the budget means something in particular? like maybe final season? or maybe they increased the budget coincidentally to the change of showrruner?

reply

I think she means that on average a single episode is pretty expensive and given that it was already December, a lot of the filming must have already been done. So they are not going to cancel a high profile and expensive show like this a couple months before its next season. The Baltimore thing is just to emphasise that production was/is on going.
