What's with the posturing?

Seriously, why can't the dude just talk and act normal? What's with all the drama, the non-stop portentous demeanor, and the "watch out" and Steven Seagal single-handedly gunning down 13 dudes around him? He's just doing everyday politics power plays business as usual that everyone else does.

I mean, I do find all the power plays and politics interesting, and want to follow how it all plays out. And if it were just about that, I'd watch it just for that sake. Except on this show it's all shrouded in so much unrealistic bullshit and drama, and the mechanical protagonist who never falters and gets everything right all time, always gets his way with both his superiors and subordinates, all serious 24/7. All the while doing mundane everyday stuff we all do. There's no "sometimes you win, you lose, this is life." No, you ALWAYS know how it's gonna end. And I'm like, "Shut the fuck up! You just figured out the county didn't fix the roads by accident thanks to that city councilor!" It's like me figuring out how to get the truck ice cream to get me the stuff, except with the music and the serious face behind, like I'm doing the baddest sht since Mao's purges. And I'm supposed to be all "woah" impressed, fall on my knees and start sucking his dick because of that serious camera face? Get outta with your overdrama BS! I quit the show after I finished Episode 4. Insulting my intelligence like I'm some impressionable fangirl.
