In the news - Affleck's THE BATMAN script was supposedly awesome

This is what I've been seeing online, that Affleck helped write a script that was quite good. I wonder who the primary antagonist would have been and if the main character was a more classic Batman or a more modern Batman.

Thoughts? News? Anyone?

I think that script was when Deathstroke was the assigned villain.

Then why don't they keep his good script, and let him bow out as lead actor?

The lack of good scripts is the single biggest problem with the DCEU films.

reply

Amen to that, on the first point and especially on the second!

The story makes no sense as stated, there would be no logical reason to jettison a good Affleck script. Sure, he may not be able to star, that's fine, get another actor. If he's not in shape to publicize the film then fine, say the whole company supports his efforts to get healthy. If he wants more money for his good script then pay him the damn money, DCEU is toast if they don't get better scripts.

There is no good reason for the DCEU people to reject a good script, although of course they're perfectly capable of acting for bad reasons.
