Battery on the camera?

Ok, they went back around 45 years. Russian milicos didn't know their clothes, much less the camera.

What happened? they just left the camera there on the table all that time? Then how was Holly able to turn it on and watch some scenes? Battery should be long gone. Note how the camera is on and LCD has image when they find it! And I believe it's not the same model.

That was an incredibly durable battery.

Explanation: The bunker was active in the present; remember that Holly and Jensen came across a recent/fresh cadaver of a Russian soldier inside the bunker, a fresh cadaver that was missing a tongue, the same (fresh) tongue that they previously came across in the weather tower only the day before. My theory is that the Russians have been in the bunker in the present and have recently charged the battery of the camera.

Yeah, they could have brought a new battery and charged it.

But if they had watched the video, they'd see the future. I don't think something as relevant as that would be neglected.

Plot hole?

I see your point, it's discussed in another thread http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1905040/board/thread/226865249 but you see: We don't know what happened immediately after Holly and Jensen were hanged on the meat hooks in the bunker - maybe they started wrecking havoc immediately and Russian military had to close up shop real quick and left the camera behind so they didn't get to exploit it, etc. Or maybe the camera just ran out of battery very quickly and they couldn't charge it in the past because they didn't have the technology, etc. etc.

Let's start a new thread about the battery, it's easier than commenting on one of the others.

I answered this question just now in another thread. Though I didn't account for the soldier viewing the future..But I think he just started uploading/transmitting the data to some intelligence agency and then got killed pretty quickly... All the writer had to do was have Jensen say, “I have a spare battery in my pocket. I don’t know how much juice is left, though.”

It also makes you wonder how the mutants have survived on such little food for so long.
