It is the thing now days. The robot in the new Buck Rodger reboot will be made by a gay person and will talk gay and have that mannerism. One of the children or town people in the mew Little House on the Praire will be gay. My guess is the son of that shop keeper.

Well, why not? The first film establishes that any species will do, tentacles or not, so it's not like he's picky.
