God, what a crap movie and idea

The problem isn't even racism and having a white guy in the lead for this movie. The problem is making the movie some what watchable. If you're going to do a white lead in an Asian setting you have to have an iron clad story, and directing to make it believable. Didn't the studios learn from 47 Ronin that a fantasy movie that is not historically accurate with a white lead and a crap story flops?

A bad story can't save a movie even if it's got a stellar cast and director.

Sure, some of you Chinese guys want to talk it up, obviously because this is a Chinese joint effort. But considering the box office has to hit over 300Mil for this to break even on it's budget of 150mil, I honest hope no one outside of China is dumb enough to waste their money on this trash.

Go back to doing what Asians do best, martial arts films like Crouching tiger, Hidden dragon.

This is going to be just like that idiotic "D-War" movie from Korea.

It'll do great in its country of (partial) origin, but will fizzle elsewhere due to its preposterous and laughable story.

At least if it had gone for "Big Trouble in Little China" levels of cheesy B-movie enjoyment, there might have been something to it worth seeing.
