question about the ending...spoilers obviously...

Ok so Gentry got the contract. The Rigo shows he is a good pitcher at the hotel. Them again showing up Gentry in front of everyone.

They say in the conference roo. That Rigo should be the one with the contract and that Mickey will make yiu p papers to get him money...so the question is if they offer the contract to Rigo...what happens to Gentry? Does he get put in the dugout every game unless there is no choice but to put him in or do they send him home and tell him they dont need him anymore? Even Gus mentions they needes a pitchter not a hitter.

Either way i was great Rigo showing up Gentry at the end. Kinda wish we could ha e see what happened to them after....like a where are they now thing for the main cast. Anyways, if anyone can help this question it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help.

P.s. I love this movie and I watch it when there isn't anything on.

Gentry would probably start in one of their affiliate minor league teams (or instructional league) and work his way to the MLB. He's their first round pick--they're going to work to get him to the majors or at the very least, use as trade bait--which is fairly common. I think at one point in the boardroom, one of the office personnel says he needs work. Gentry probably wouldn't have gotten that far without the baseball world knowing he couldn't hit a curve and they wouldn't have Rigo show him up in front of reporters, either...but then we wouldn't have a movie.

Where did they end up? Well, thousands get signed to minor league contracts every year. They may have flamed out, moved quickly through the ranks or still working on their game and may blossom later.

Unless you are an absolutely beast of a player you never start off with the big club when you initially get signed. Basically they are both going to get signed, Gentry as a draftee and Rigo as an open tryout kind of thing. They will both get evaluated and that will determine where they will go, either their A, AA or AAA minor league club and from there they will continue to develop.

First sorry about the grammar...using my phone when I originally posted didnt catch the auto correct. Lol.

Thanks for the responses, I know this is an old movie by now but that was one thing I never understood. Im not a big sports person so wouldn't really know how this would work out for them both.
