Spanish-Arabic theme movie was awesome! Doesn't deserve 17% RT score.

I am so upset with critics ratings this year, they are unbelievable at this point.

I saw it again this early evening. My theater was packed. It was good and everyone who saw knows it does not deserve 17% score from rotten tomatoes. 17% is worse than Suicide Squad's score.

Deserves to be above 65%. Story, acting, visual effects and Spanish-Arabic architecture was incredible. I could see it and Michael Fassbender over and over again.

reply

Agreed. This was a very good film.

Deserves at least 70-80%

Guys stop we gotta talk this through

reply

As a huge DC comics fan I say that BvS and Suicide Squad deserved what they got.

However, Assassin's creed was excelent. I am around 75-85%. I am not a native English speaker and got the film the critics said they couldn't. Huh?

Going to see it again for sure.

reply

Critics saying it was hard to understand are obviously wrong. But its common thing that critics say things that are not true about movies, whether they are good or bad. Best to not pay attention to them and see movies regardless how low ratings are.

reply

Totally agree, this movie really isn't nearly as bad as they say. It's a great, original film.

reply

Personally I thought they really simplified the story too much. Maybe I love the games too much to see the positives but I couldn't really find any. the visual effects and Spanish-Arabic architecture was incredible but was barely used.

At my theater they pushed this movie to the back (room has less than half the seats) and was still unable to fill 1/4 of it (This was opening weekend).

I wrote my review here

Good review and good points. At least we both agree it did not deserve a 17%. For the 1st Assassins Creed movie, I think it rocked.

I agree their should have been more isolated scenes of cities. Saw it twice and I tend to focus on backgrounds in movies for art reference, and their were lots of different styled building structures. The story and characters distract you from buildings too.

If they make a sequel, I hope its Cold War.

reply

For RT I usually go by the audience score. All the 17% tells me is that out of 160 people 133 didn't like it. No real explanation of how bad. Is it a 5/10 bad or 2/10 bad no one knows. There are reviews down below but half of them seem full of themselves.

If they do make a sequel they better mention the First Civilization.

I agree reviews seems made up. They don't describe the movie accurately.

reply

The reviews seem made up? God, you're stupid.

Rotten Tomatoes' rating system is such that the critic can either like or not (rotten or fresh). In order to understand why that particular didn't like or didn't recommend it, you have to read their reviews. These are usually from respected news sites or movie blogs, or maybe even newspapers.

For you to say "the reviews seem made up" just goes to show your own ignorance, because it implies that you think there's some sort of conspiracy against this movie, because you can't even fathom someone would have anything bad to say about it, let alone dislike it outright.

This movie is not particularly good. It's not awful, but it has a lot of flaws. Writing, editing and photography flaws. You can see other people here who don't like it, don't go around spewing your idiocy by saying you think people are making things up just to give this movie a bad review.

ON your profile board history... very random that you picked on my posts.

so random you picked on my post out all the other people that said the same thing.

Yep reviews are made up things, over exaggerated to keep people from watching movie.

Sorry, I burst your bubble...but you'll get over it.

reply

I rest my case. Go polish your tinfoil hat.

My feelings are so hurt.

Your interest is in older movies (Mr. Nobody (2009)), non video game movies, and old women (Elizabeth Banks).

But you get sooo angry and put down people for disagreeing with comments from rotten tomatoe critics. Why are you taking it so personal? Your not a rotten tomato critic.

Your creeping me out because its so random.

Are you patrolling around for people who talk crap about rotten tomatoe critics and then put them down for it?

reply

I think the fact that you listed Mr. Nobody as an old movie is hilarious as it is telling of your own stupidity. No, AC isn't my type of movie, but I am a fan (ish) of the games, and I went to watch it with a friend even if I didn't think it'd be good. I told you it's not awful, but it has too many flaws to be considered "good" or even "pretty good".

I'm assuming you want me to say I'm part of a global effort to make up bad things about this movie so people won't watch it.

What made me reply to you was your earlier statement that such a conspiracy to denounce this harmless flick existed. Ridiculous, to say the least.

reply

Grow up. If you don't like what I have to say, then BLOCK ME.

I agree, although I wouldn't go so far as to say the story was incredible. But the rest of it I thought was very above average, especially for a video game film.

Trying to create a channel based on interpreting, reviewing, and even giving you something to laugh about film. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance.

I agree that there's no way this should be such a low score! If movie goers keep complaining about how "confusing" a movie is every time there's a bit of plot, we're going to end up with nothing but regurgitated Michael Bay crap from the movie industry for the next 20 yrs! SMH
Personally, I thought this was exactly what a Video Game movie should be! 9/10 for me!

reply

The film was garbage. Make a film about Andalucia under the Arabs or El Cid for Spanish-Arabic themes, but this was bad. The story of the game is good, but the film is just bad.
