Dark screen.?

Just saw this today. I thought it was awful and just out of interest was everyone elses screening mega dark? I struggled to see what was going on 60% of the time especially when he jumps into the other fassbender. Its like they were trying to hide there pish cgi or something.

You're not alone, I was really straining at times to see what was going on.

Rather have deep blackness and have one or two issues switching from dark to light or vice versa then the gammaridden crap black that is often in many movies (even today). Not saying the screen you viewed it on was perfect in any way - cinemas very often have not adapted their settings to suit the movie they show.

Ignorance is only a bliss if you haven't reached awareness.
My imdb posts are getting altered.

They shouldn't be changing settings for films. They should simply have it reasonably close to the standard used (the projectors they have are), and they need to replace the bulb frequently. Sadly this last point often does not happen, resulting in overly dark films. This becomes a very apparent issue when a film wants to be darker to begin with as it makes it far to dark and detail is increasingly lost. This I can almost assure you will be a cinema issue, not a film issue.

So, I went to see it at 2 different theaters. First time, it was great and I could see everything and could tell who everyone was. Second time, the projector was WAY too dark, to the point that I know I would've had no idea what was going on if I hadn't seen it already on a bright projector.

Unfortunately, this seems to be a problem depending on your local theater. I saw Doctor Strange on a super dark screen, and the only reason I wasn't completely lost in that movie was because there weren't many dark scenes, unlike this film.

EDIT: I meant to say that this appears to be a common problem for a notable number of people's local theaters. So, it's not that your theater sucks- it's just that some projectors aren't as bright as others. :)

When I watched it, there were a few scenes in a certain part of the Abstergo facility that got pretty dark. There was one instance with Aguilar where the rapid shift from very dark to quite bright made it hard see things for a moment. The rest seemed fine though. Most of the problem appeared to be near the middle of the movie.
