If they didn't mention something from first civilization (except of course the artifact "apple of eden") then they lost it completely.

It was mention when talking about the apple but It seem they want to go for the god reason for the creation of the pieces of eden.

And didn't see them leaning to God creation over a first civilization one. They clearly stated it's maybe the one or the other without favouring one.
