Why make a pg13 movie from an 18+ game ?

Don't get it?

Do you honestly think that only 18+ play the game? It's easier for someone younger than 18 to access the game than getting into an R rated movie.

By limiting the rating to an R rating, they would have lost so much money. Simple as that I'd say

Because they're greedy idiots.

It worked, so who cares. Assassin's creed doesn't rely on gore in the games, so it shouldn't in the movie either and the little blood that was in the movie was enough to get the point across that that person was hurt/dead.
America is simply missing a rating between PG13 and R, something like PG16, that would be perfect for the movie.

I haven't seen it, but would the movie really have been saved by more "R" content? As bad as it's getting kicked around, I'm having a hard time imagining a few nipples or some arterial spray would've helped.

PG-13 isn't the problem. The rest of the movie is.

Nothing wrong with pg 13. The only thing you see in the movie is a tiny ass bloodspurt you can hardly call that R rated material
