Not really sure what the critics wanted, it really wasn't that bad.

Thought it was a solid game to movie adaption, it really captured the look of the game anyway.

I'm really a bit naughty and used to skip or not pay that much attention to cut scenes so not sure if it kept the details of the story from the game but overall I enjoyed it.

Glad I pay no attention to reviews. I'd actually like to see another one, but that's probably not gonna happen.

I agree! The critics these days just have sticks up their butts

Trivia says it doesn't have the games' story. It has its own.
For that it had too many plotholes though.
Whatever, I agree that a meta of 36 is unexpected low.

Just shows that you can't give anything about what other people think. Be they IMDb trolls or "professional" critics.

I rated it 5. The latter third just dragged it down. The first half I enjoyed more than Star Wars, which I watched yesterday.
Both had unwanted effects in 3D though like ghosting of light sources in the background or a miniature effect of wider landscape scenes (dislike that the most).

Well, the sequel is actually a very likely possibility- Ubisoft was smart enough to fund much of the film themselves and let Fox take most of the revenue. This way, the usual Hollywood studio mentality of "no money, no sequel" has no bearing here- since games make so much money, Ubisoft will definitely have the resources to make the second one. It's quite clever really.

I'm hopeful that this will allow the sequel to be Assassin's Creed II good. Ubisoft fixed so many of the first game's issues with the second, so hopefully they can do that with the movies as well. Yves Guillemot actually said as much very recently.

I liked it well enough, I would give it a 5.5 or 6. Definitely much better than critics say. I did find some parts confusing especially his last time in when all those others assasins came out; who where they and why was he seeing them. Despite confusing parts I still mostly enjoyed it.

1. BVS 2. TWS 3. Avengers

Glad to hear! Yes, that was definitely a major scene that even had fans trying to figure out what was happening:

It was actually all of Cal's Assassin ancestors manifesting themselves to initiate him into the Brotherhood. It was a cool scene because you get to see some of the possibilities for Cal's ancestor in the sequels (there was a Civil War era Michael Fassbender!). A really cool part of that scene for gamers was that one of Cal's ancestors was Arno Victor Dorian, the main character from one of the games (Assassin's Creed Unity).

Hope that helps!! :)

They want a movie with substance, developed characters, a coherant narrative, a goal you can get invested in. Not something that just kind of looks cool. The action sequences are awful full of 30-40 cuts a minute. Don't care about the characters, their relationships, or the McGuffin.
