Current box office number is 86 million.

China and other markets to be release could save the movie.

Seems that this movie's best markets so far, in proportional terms, are Austria, France, Germany, and Spain. Especially Austria, speaking in proportional/relative terms.

It will be interesting to see how this movie fares in the UK, Australia, and China.

No. the budget was 150m and movies typically need to double their budget or more to break even.

reply

Correction budget is 125m.

reply

With marketing, I think it could be 150 or 175 million in total.

reply

Exactly, and with theaters needing money two you have to double your budget.

reply

The percentage that the studio gets from foreign box office is actually much lower than domestic, too.

I didn't saw any marketing actually

Budget was not 125M. This was the money reported by Fox, who clearly lied about it. Ubisoft already revealed that the budget wasn't far nor close to 200M, 125M does not fit into this statement. Cotillard gave an interview in Paris a few weeks ago and it was revealed in it that the budget was on the 160M range. If you add marketing money, which was around 60-80M, AC would need around 450-500M just to break even.

And even with this fake 125M budget, the film would need around 450M to pay its costs. It will barely reach 400M with these results we have worldwide so far.

Fox said the budget was $125 million. Kurzel said the budget was $125 million. AllGot knows better and says they are lying. AllGot's credentials are ???? Worth noting, AllGot devotes countless hours trashing Fassbender on IMDb and widely across the internet. She even has a tumblr blog, Weinstein Couple, her pet name for Fassbender and Vikander, who she claims are being blackmailed by Harvey Weinstein into pretending to be in a relationship. Anyone who reads her ramblings there will quickly conclude she has deep seated issues and question her mental stability.

Fox alway lies. Very pathetic.

I think as long as they can manage around 300-350m they'll continue with the sequel which is supposedly already in the works. If they're smart, they'll take all the critiques and improve the second one dramatically.

My justification is 300-350 is close to, but not quite, breaking even. If ubisoft sells a few million extra copies of their games, it'll be a success.

Truly hope they make a sequel because there is definitely an amazing story there that could make a great film with the right focus.
