The video game movie curse was already broken.

Even though Warcraft was a great movie (sorry to break it to you haters but yes. It WAS.), and it was satisfying to fans for following the lore and feel of the games to a tee, it isn't what broke the curse. It was broken more than a decade ago with Resident Evil. Hey you can hate those movies all you want but you can't deny it's the most succcessful game to screen franchise of all time. With the sixth and final Mila Jovovich movie coming out and a third movie in the animated movie series coming out as well, it's been a success,

You're delusional if you think people aren't going to see the final Mila Jovovich movie in January. It's not facing really any big competition, and taking a few years break has helped increase interest in seeing the finale. It might not be a runaway hit, but it's definitely going to make a profit. It's also been confirmed they have no plans whatsoever to abandon Resident Evil movies, it's just the end of the Mila Jovovich franchise.

The "video game movie curse" thing refers to critical reception as much as it does box office earnings.

I haven't seen it yet (there are obstacles to getting a workable legit copy), but it seems that the Ace Attorney movie was liked by many fans of that series who watched it.

I care more about RE7. Then the new movie.
