No, it doesn't mean it sucks. The reason why reviews aren't up yet is because the embargo only ends on 20 December, and the reason why the embargo ends so late is because the movie has been submitted for consideration of a number of Oscar nominations, not because it sucks. Same reason why the embargo for Rogue One only ended this week, even though the movie opens tomorrow.

Whatever, stay in denial all you want, the movie is going to suck and when the reviews hit you'll tell yourself critics are just too high brow. Then you'll see the movie, defend it, and in a month you'll realize it really wasn't good at all.

The embargo has absolutely nothing to do with award consideration. Silence has had reviews posted for weeks. Don't just make up things to try and sound smart.

At any rate, I'm not going to be defending it if the reviews are indeed bad, I'm not a fan of the games, have not really played them, so I've got nothing invested in the franchise. I'm just kind of hoping that it will be good, so that we at least have one good video game movie, but I'm weary.

That was posted before I knew what the reviews were going to be. And I'm not lying when I said that I was never a fan of the games. You should of seen me when I was actually defending the Warcraft movie.
shareI think one reason they don´t want to release the reviews (and early screenings) is to divide the buzz from the "star wars stream". Because no matter how much good reviews you´ll have these days, number one on the internet and discussions is Rogue One. But after the weekend when the initial buzz from the people who saw rogue one will pass, then is a good time to hit it with a lot of good (hope so) reviews and focus all the mediums and positive buzz to Assassins Creed. Of course maybe it´s only my theory but from what I know I can´t belive this movie is goin to be a turd. It´ll be OK at least. Praying for it.

They released it close to Rogue One so that when it flops they have an out in saying Rogue One was too big of a hit instead of admitting they didn't make a good film.

Well, they'll certainly be able to point to Rogue One if the results are disappointing. But it's not like they picked this date with that in mind; AC was first on the slate, before RO picked its date.
