This movie made no sense to me. **spoilers**

I need to start off with saying that I never played the game.

I just didn't understand the story or characters... and I'm hoping someone can explain this to me.

1) Why did they kill Jeremy Irons? He didn't seem like a bad guy... in fact he was one of the few characters I liked.

2) Why was Fassbender in prison in the beginning? They said murder, but never gave any more information.

3) Was he already an assassin, or did using that machine turn him into an assassin while he was mimicking his ancestor?

4) What was the whole point of the present scenes? Everything that took place in the past were really the only parts I personally cared for.

5) Who were the other assassins who joined Fassbender at the end to kill Irons?

6) How does the apple end all assassins? The whole movie was based around retrieving the apple, but I never understood what it did, other than "end the assassins" somehow.

I felt like a missed a chunk of the movie... and I'm pretty sure I didn't fall asleep. So much just didn't make sense to me... maybe playing the game was a requirement?

(6) The apple is really just a McGuffin. Isn't it supposed to end all freewill? Sort of magically (of course).
Here's the 'story' of the apple of eden : http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Apples_of_Eden

Sig, you want a sig, here's a SIG-sauer!

1. Because he was the head of Abstergo and a Templar. Killing Templars is kinda what Assassin's do.

2. He killed a pimp.

3. Genetically Callum was always an Assassin through the Bleeding Effect he gained the skills of his ancestor Aguilar

4. The Modern Day is the heart of series without a strong modern day story you're just making a period piece about Inquisition Era Spain.

5. The other prisoners at Abstergo who gained Master Assassin skills from being in the Animus

6. The Apple is a Piece of Eden that has mind control along with other powers. The Templars in for the first 5 games wanted to get the Apple, launch it into space on a satellite, activate it, and use that to end all free will. No free will means no Assassins
