Honestly, it is a good movie. It just seems to only appeal to some audiences. If you like history, sci-fi and fantasy, you'll probably enjoy the movie. If you don't, then you'll likely be bored by it.

shareI don't think it's a very good adaptation of the game (it seems to have been more designed as a stand-alone story in the same universe with a very different focus) but unlike my friends I thought it was a decent enough action movie.
If you like action films with slight sci-fi premises (such as The Island or Face/Off) I have a feeling you'll like this film, although it starts off fairly slow.
If you are interested in the film because of the historical aspect shown in the trailers, its best you know going in that those scenes are a very minimal part of the film.
Personally I gave this a 5.5/10 but I'm a harsh scorer. My biggest problem with the film was that it was meant to be an adaptation (which it did a poor job of) and the characters being pretty damn flat. I don't think it's particularly good but it isn't really bad either.
I suspect the problem is that you have too many paperclips up your nose
It has nice visuals, elaborate sets, sweeping camera shots, and pretty good combat scenes. So I enjoyed it. Thought it was alright. Not something I would watch over and over again, but I felt I basically got my money's worth.
