The film starts with an action sequence in Spain during the inquisition. We're introduced to Aguilar as he rescues the prince. Cut to title and the bird flying into modern times. Cal is about to be executed (everything with Brendan Gleeson and his father/ mother should be cut).

Cal is resurrected and brought into the animus. Exposition dump about the Apple of Eden and being given a second chance to make things right.

Most of the movie would take place during the Inquisition and it's revealed that Marion Cotillard's ancestor was an Assassin as well. There's an overlapping love story in two different time lines between Fassbender and Cotillard. Cotillard eventually betrays irons and Fassbender kills him and steals the apple. He thanks him for opening his eyes and introducing him to a new creed. Marion Cotillard looks up as Fassbender and a other Assassins parkour on a rooftop. Bird flies end titles.
