PG-13 rating might ruin the film.

The video game was rated M, idk why they didn't make this rated r.

reply

Because a bloodspurt here and there does not make a movie R rated. Really the only thing you see in the game is a tiny as bloodspurt no gore no tits no sex (on screen)

Pg-13 is just fine.

Pg-13 is okay. I'm more concerned that they may or may not have a good script. I'm for the most part not hopeful about the movie.

reply

Yeah, because releasing an R-rated $150+million dollar film during Christmas makes so much sense from a financial viewpoint.

Get over the R-rated drama. Violence has never been the focal point to the AC franchise and there have been titles in the series which have garnered Teen ratings. Didn't deter their quality any.

If Mortal Kombat (of all things) could work as a PG-13 film, there's no reason to believe that a series like AC can't.

I am not saying this film will be bad simply because of it's pg-13 rating but that is a bad example. The first Mortal Kombat film while entertaining was not a good film by any means. Now Mortal Kombat compared to annihilation is a masterpiece but on it's own it is a pretty bad film in all honesty. I say that and I like it, plus I have a ton of nostalgia with that movie.

You have got to be *beep* me. The violence plays a huge *beep* part in the games. The video game became *beep* popular for the combat system, and realistic portrayals on violence. Apart from that the story was always deep..... which is something thats non existent in the trailers we've seen. Face it dude, this film is going to suck. Theirs so much red flags

You are so *beep* wrong about that. The game became *beep* popular because it combined sci-fi and history, and people love this exotic combinations, when non-combinable is actually successfully combined.

Nolan, I love you forever!

Yeah but the ESRB is much more strict on the censorship and stuff that is or isn't allowed. In terms of violence there aren't many things that are extremely gory or violent in the games that wouldn't be shown on a PG-13 movie.

Some BODY once told me.

All the games were very violent and were age restricted, and Ubisoft were saying how they didn't need this movie to make money and here they are whoring it out to children all around the world. Come and get your friendly local neighborhood assassin's kids.

It'll be the same with Tomb Raider. We're basing the movie off the rebooted game. Game was the equivalent of an R rating. Movie will be PG. Good job guys. 
