RT Score and Critical Consensus predictions

Score: 82%

Critical Consensus: Bolstered by a top notch cast, thrilling action, and compelling themes, Assassin’s Creed overcomes a few script issues and delivers a rich, rewarding tale that will please both fans of the game and non-gamers alike.

My rock solid final prediction, I think the movie is going to surprise people 

I would be happy with either of those scores, I just want the movie to be good. As i've said before, I genuinely cannot see a scenario of this movie being bad given the actors, and crew involved.

Nice description on the consensus! I really hope this is the case, and I do think it should be given all the points you listed. Worst case, it could be around 70%, but like you said- at this point, the only possible issues with this movie would be in the script, and I am sure they will be minimal, if they are present at all.

Yeah I'm with you on that. I know that reviews don't come out until the day before release, however that's quite understandable, for Fox it's a (supposedly) 200 Million dollar new IP for them, they need the movie to have a chance at being seen. Completely different scenario to Fant4stic, I would only be concerned if the embargo was the very day of release, but it's not. I do genuinely think it will surprise people, could it potentially do much worse? Yes. But my gut feeling tells me it will be generally well received critically.

I have a really hard time buying that actors such as Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Michael K. Williams, Ariane Labed, Charlotte Rampling, or a director such as Justin Kurzel would sign on to crap. Marion has praised the script so many times that I just do not see a scenario where this movie is ravaged by critics.

Score: 68%

Critical Consensus Coming out of the dark abyss of video-game based movies into the light of respectability and enjoyability, Assassin's Creed serves up an action movie that has potential to be a franchise starter.

I too think this can surprise people and I'm not even a fan of the games. Stopped playing after the first, which was probably a mistake as everyone says the 2nd was the best.

Score: 70%

Critical Consensus: With a few editing issues, Assassin Creed is a movie that transcends the bad video game movie cursed with top-notch production design and stellar action sequences.

Hopefully this will be the case.

43% – Despite its stellar cast and stunning visual effects, Assassin's Creed proves to be another entry to the long line of disappointing video-game adaptations.

I'd be surprised if it gets anything higher than a 40%. Not a single video game adaptation to date has gotten anything higher than 40%. I'm hoping it turns out to be the first 'fresh' video game movie in RT history, even if it's just 60%.

Critics might not get it... IMDB might have a stronger score!
