I haven't seen the film yet, but judging by the reviews the main problem is the script. That leaves me with the following questions: why hire these people who apparently have a bad writing record, and after that, why move forward with a terrible script? Is it just because of the scheduling?

This is what I heard: no character development, boring, best scenes are the past, fight scenes were shot too fast, the switch from past and present is confusing, all characters are unlikable even Michael's.
I think if the movie mainly remained in the past it would have been better I think they can improve it with a sequel if it gets a green light.
