I enjoyed it, probably should have been made as a video game instead

I was prepared for this to be skewered by critics, I knew it had no chance in hell. But as a fan of the Asassin's Creed series, I thought it felt like it was cut of the same cloth and stayed completely true to everything what makes AC great. I liked the modern day/Abstergo scenes better. I thought the past sequences in Medieval Spain felt "sitcomish." One of the best things about AC is exploring historical time periods, the past sequences were CGI'd to death and felt stage-like, reminded me of how Peru looked and felt in Indiana Jones IV (2008). Overall, I enjoyed it for what it was. I think it would've done better as a video game reboot for the AC series, which is what the series needs.

The thing is Ubisoft took a break this year releasing a game for this film. Looks like the they should have just stuck with former. Would have made a good standalone game if the same cast was used for voice acting.
