Cannot turn a blind eye to the Monopoly now.

Disney/Marvel influence has had a tremendous impact on movie industry in the past few years, and when you hear people saying Disney is rolling in cash and buying media sources left and right its no laughing matter.

At first when i read accusations like one above i shook my head, but over the last 2 years i have been keeping a close eye on reviews both written and youtube, and its apparent that Marvel properties are being favored by the critics more that non Marvel movies, i am not even talking about DC movies.

Titles like The Martian by Ridley Scott and many other intellectually evocative movies are getting subpar reviews, i can understand those movies do not appeal to the mass hordes in the cinema but when i see professional critics fawn over movies like Civil War and then roll their eyes on great non Marvel movies i have no choice but look at these reviews with an air of suspicion, something is not right, and when so many people notice glaring flaws in Marvel movies brushed aside by these critics when they go on and on nitpicking on non Marvel titles, suddenly the idea of bribery doesn't look that far fetched.

Liar. The Martian got wonderful reviews. It has a 92% RT score overall and a 94% rating from top critics. It was also a big hit and nominated for more Oscars than a Marvel movie has ever been nominated for.

Saying it's reviews were subpar is a bold-faced lie that completely just murders any point that you are trying to make in your whiny post.

Lol kid i typed that thing with one hand eating dinner with other. The Martian was just a template and to a keen observer it would be obvious which movies i am alluding to, there are countless that came out in the last 2 years and got trashed by the critics despite of being better than majority of the Marvel movies. I am not going to write a 10 page paper listing every single movie that is better than Marvel crap but was dismissed by the critics for reasons unknown.

P.S Martian and Civl War atm are both sitting at 8.0 on imbd, and no one can make an argument that Civil War deserved to be in the same class as The Martian, which happens to be the superior movie overall.

While I do think it's puzzling that films like Civil War get glowing reviews, your point is marred by using The Martian as an example!

Critics love the Marvel movies because, surprise they're actually quite entertaining and loads of fun. Incidentally the interesting premise destroyed by lifeless directing movie Arrival had great reviews; so your talking out of your ass.
