*** is what they give big stuff they think is very average.
I'm actually surprised that their rating is that high. I saw a preview of their magazine issue weeks ago where they said that someone from the magazine got to an early preview of the movie in late November and I believe the phrase quoted was "this is as tame as *beep*", echoing most of the criticisms that we're seeing in reviews now.

the embargo ends so late is because the movie has been submitted for consideration of a number of Oscar nominations, not because it sucks.
