So..watched it Twice in two days, Second time, after the original....

...and yeah, Went from an 8 to a solid 9!!! I Think I laughed even more the second time around and after watching the original, I actually had a bit more respect and admiration for how much time must have been spent from everyone involved to keep the natural progression of these characters and their enviroment intact, even with the 20 year gap!!

My Brother and wife enjoyed it alot too and while I kind of wish I saw it in the theater, I didn't see the original in the theater, so Im gonna say its more fitting to watch both the same way!!! They go together perfectly and I couldnt be happier that Im talking about Harry and Lloyd 20 years later with a new adventure to quote(there are plenty!!) and one I'll add proudly to my collection!!! Just Love, love, love this movie!!!

Who's with me????

I'm glad you were able to enjoy it. I didn't. And I tried hard to. There were funny parts, but I think there was a lot of heart and soul missing from the guys in the first movie. I gave it a 5 and then lowered it to a 4 upon second viewing.

You know, I've seen other posters say the same thing, but I still felt the heart and soul in the characters, even more so with watching both films back to back, as it's been a while since I;ve seen the first one.

I do think at times, they were a tad cruder in the new one, but I believe that fits well with how they would have evolved within the last 20 years(especially considering the storyline) but in the end, it really is all about their friendship and that was not lost on me in both films. Especially the ending credits, with "Me and You" playing, I swear, almost brought me tears of joy!

Are you telling me you didn't feel their Bond?? (...James Bond) ;)

I liked this one a lot as well. Not better than first of course, but can still watch it just as much.

This movie a chore to get through. Painfully, PAINFULLY unfunny.

I've been going over this in my mind a lot lately. I think this film is fine, but the way it was shot is a problem. The original was shot in the 90's, by first time filmmakers. They did not shoot a lot of coverage. Most shots are just done in a filmmaking 101 sort of way, all master shots, and close ups when needed. This allowed for a lot of breathing room where could absorb the characters and their mannerisms. The jokes were first and the camera was second. With the sequel, a lot of time has passed. The Farley Brothers have made a ton of movies, shot at a more rapid speed. People seem to have shorter attention spans nowadays. I found the movies have suffered. Once we get a little attached to a character there's a cut and we're onto another scene or another joke. This film and most comedy films suffer in the filmmaking and editing. I think the script has a lot of great stuff that was just executed poorly in the filmmaking. Oddly enough, the scene that reminds me of the original the most is the after credits sequence when they're riding the zamboni. It's one angle and no cuts, where we just get to see the characters in their element. I'd love for the whole film to be re-edited in this way.

I soo agree with you!! The first time when I watched this movie over an year ago, I thought it was alright. I thought it had some funny moments and it was just an okay movie.

Then I just watched the original again the other day and was planning to skip this one. But then yesterday, I didn't have anything better to watch so thought what the heck, let me just watch this one too. And wow, I really enjoyed it this time! It really grew on me! Both Harry and Lloyd were as funny as they were in the first movie!

Now I am planning to rewatch the 2003 prequel after over a dozen of years! Let's see how I feel about the prequel!

P.S. I just loved the way Lloyd says "boys rule, girls drool!" HAHAHAHA

Alright!!!  Great to see someone else give it another shot and have a better opinion the second go around! I agree with you and I'll tell ya, it gets funnier with every re-watch, just like the original too!
