Can't they just keep the punshments embarrassing?

That is basically the concept of the show, right?
Like the notice at the beginning of the show says....They compete to embarrass each other.
It is hilarious and it's why I watch the show.
But when they have punishments like wrapping Joe's things up in wrapping paper....It's just too personal and not really funny.
Anyone know what I'm saying?

I definitely get what you are saying.

I think they do cross the line into the personal and not really funny thing, but rarely.

But they have already set a precedent on these personal type of punishments (tattoos, Murr's exam, Q having a sex talk with his parents.

To be quite honest, Joe has had it pretty easy when taking the personal nature into account.

Actually wrapping up the home is wrapping paper is a lot better than say having your apartment smashed to pieces or having your car stained with food/removing your tires.

It was funny, but they definitely went safe on Joe there. The worst thing he had to do is clean up a bunch of wrapping paper - it wouldn't even take that long to be honest.

Q talkin to his parents about sex is stupid. Q reading a suggestive book related to sex to those kids is funny. Murr getting an exam was just plain stupid. That wasn't funny, but disgusting.

I thought the house wrapping was fairly tame too. They did say it was his birthday, so maybe they wanted to do something that was more like an old-fashioned prank that would just be annoying to unwrap rather than embarrassing.

TL,DR: I want ice cream.
