Do you think that makes them evil as well as wrong?

Granted, they suspected that man of child molesting and went incredibly mad as a result attacking him, terrorizing his family, pointing fingers at him, killing his dog and other matters. That is in itself no doubt wrong and was also unhelpful in any overall picture.

But then, child molestation as an act is in itself incredibly evil and among the absolute worst criminal offenses known to man. And what's more, in real life sadly, they often do end up getting away with it for one reason or another, in today's day and age as well, its impossible to deny it given how internet helps us easily to find available information.

But do you think that them attacking him BECAUSE of them believing he is a guilty child molester ALSO makes them wrong and evil or is them suspecting him of such is a mitigating factor that, as incorrect as they are, makes them somewhat understandable.

And what do you think about the fact that, as uneven as the whole situation is in life, that for some matters, even with a lack of conclusive evidence and whatnot, it can cause some people, as we see in this movie, to become so mad and capable of unleashing physical and other acts of violence towards the suspecting party like that?

Basically in a nutshell, who do you think are the heroes and villains of this rather complex story or is it also unfortunate that matters like this don't have an easy and satisfying enough answer and that this is basically another sad fact of life where good doesn't defeat evil and evil doesn't get it and some matters also have shades of grey and complexities to them but are overall still not right either - and they don't solve certainly the overall ACTUAL matters of official child abuse as such?

Cheers.

Also on a different side of things.

I read a number of reviews online, in spite the tons of positive ones, that were negative, that were sincerely and honestly concerned that a movie like this, because it makes a lot of emphasis on the plot of one man being suspected of being a child molester and him suffering consequences as a result, that it actually undermines ACTUAL cases of child abuse as such and the effects of affected victims, but I was also wondering...

Yes we all know in general how terrible that original matter really is no doubt. And I am sure the filmmakers of this movie are no fools and are aware of the matter too.

But why not simply look at the two issues as SEPARATE MATTERS and judge them separately accordingly, not different to say, we all know that murder is bad and even other physical acts of violence and they do also affect victims and people close to them, but we have seen films involved people who were wrongly accused of or mistakenly accused of being murder suspects, and no one complained that such movies in ANY way trivialize murder, intentionally or otherwise?

Cause it seems in certain reviews that certain people really REALLY struggle to make that decision and are also unable perhaps to even look at the matter of child s-al abuse and other related issues in such field as just another terrible, bad and wrongful matter and even use certain phrases here and there that don't even get used in murder cases, and take it all more personally than other issues that can ALSO be considered bad, wrong, are hurtful and criminally offensive. Not necessarily saying they are completely wrong and don't have a point to make but, yeah, it is a bit frustrating on some level too.

And no one here even claims that we live in a simple black and white world where good and evil are easily definable let alone one where good always win and evil gets it, and some matters like this, have other layers of complexity to them also.
