Why do the effects keep getting worse?

I remember seeing the first one in theaters and enjoying it for what it was. But with each passing movie, it's like the fast and furious series: the effects get worse and the action gets bigger, dumber, and more anti-climatic. The Transformers look terrible. And the sound? They don't even sound like they're there. You can tell there in the studio. And the gunshots and explosions are no better. How does this keep happening when the first movie was more than passable?

The effects of the first film were quite amazing especially for the time, it's not a perfect film but it's quite e enjoyable aside from a few things. But with each movie the effects definitely get worse, especially in this one with the new transformation cube thing. Theirs a scene with the Lockdown character you don't hear his footsteps and it looks like he's almost floating, compare that to when Optimus grabs Megatrone flying form in the first film, that scene had weight and was great action. Now it's just devolved into mindless fights between no name deceptions and autobots that have bullet time Effect.
