I would actually love a TV Series instead of a movie because this way i feel we can have more time to love the characters and they could spread the series out over a long period of time. It makes more sense than a movie really as it will only be what? 2 hours long? There will be a lot of time skips and stuff in the movie.

So do I. Everything is amazing about this except for the nasty clickers and the limited draw distance while attacking someone. And it would have been much easier with a machine gun and a bazooka lol.

I think a lot of purists are going to be upset with the movie, given the liberal differences between the mediums. Granted, TLOU is more cinematically paced than most games, going through a series of climactic and alternating calm moments, but the story, on the surface is pretty full of genre staples. What really made it worthwhile for me was how the medium made you care about the relationship the two main characters develop. They were able to get around the fact that so much of the story was familiar, by making it much more intimate, something gaming as a medium is pretty open too. For that to work in a movie, they'll have to make a lot of changes, which, as I said, will very likely upset purists.

I don't think a film based solely off of the game works, however a well crafted film based in the same universe with a different story surrounding different characters in different locations could definitely work.
