Robyn Davidson radio interview

This is a wonderful 12 minute radio interview where Robyn discusses the film "Tracks" (done after the Australian premiere) - it seems she's one of the lucky few authors that's truly happy with what filmmakers have done with her book.

Here is a batch of really beautiful pictures taken by Rick Smolan back in 1977 of Robyn Davidson, her dog, Diggity, etc. His photos really inspired much of the cinematography and the overall look of the film.

Yes she would be happy, because the film failed to show how she was cruel to animals, and didn't condemn her behaviour.

Look I know she was abused in some way, and she transferred that to animals when she chose to seek attention for herself. But it makes me sick that she is glorified in the film for doing that.

I saw no incident in the film, or read anything in the book, that showed her being cruel to animals - I think you're misreading it. I don't agree with your interpretation. Unfortunately, I think there's a lot more to the film than what you've taken from it.

The whole thing was an act of cruelty, for one thing her dog ended up dead.
