Not eligible for the Australian oscars!

Like many Australian films, Tracks is not eligible for the upcoming AACTA (Australia's oscars) awards.

Either the producers didn't want it to be submitted or it didn't satisfy the 'RULES'.

So if Tracks gets any 2013 Oscar noms - don't scratch your heads asking why the Australian oscars didn't nominate it.

There have been a number of Australian films that got Oscar noms but nothing from their very own oscars eg. Crocodile Dundee, Babe and Happy Feet.

I guess this is why so many Australian film lovers don't give a hoot about their 'oscars'.

So where did you get to see it? Can you tell me a little more about it? As far as the Oscars in the U.S. - I don't think "Tracks" will be released here until next spring or so (2014) - I may be wrong, though.

There was a screening at the London Film Festival followed by a Q&A with the director. Obvously, I don't want to spoil any part of the film for you, but if you have any questions just let me know.

Tracks will not be getting any 2013 Oscar nominations because it's not being released until 2014.
