My impressions

I wouldn't recommend this series to everyone. It is a required taste - when you start watching the season 2, you'll know if it is your cup of tea or not.

I continued watching only cause I was curious to find out how it ends. I am glad I did, but it was a struggle because the series moves along really slowly.

This is a depressing series. It's like watching a sad puppy for 4 seasons. There is not much character developement. The main character is in a permanent state of PTSD for 4 seasons. Everyone around him is in the state of second-hand PTSD because of him. (I get it that they were trying to be as realistic as possible, but realistic can be boring indeed). Dialogue the characters are having is interesting, but seems a bit artificial at times.

All things considered, I liked it and I'm glad I didn't give up watching. Season 1 is great, and the ending of season 4 is great... but all in between is very very slow. They could've skipped a lot of filler and ended with two great seasons instead of 4 patience-testing slow seasons.
