I'm flailing! Judging by this review I'll probably devour the Luke Cage series in a non-stop Netflix marathon (if I don't force myself to watch it slowly to savour the pleasure)! The setting and the musical soundtrack sounds like a dream come true to me, as a long-time fans of all sorts of African-American music. I was impressed by Mike Colter already in "Jessica Jones", so I'm sure I'll love his portrayal of Cage when his character gets to take center stage.

According to this review, the Harlem setting will be a very important component in the Luke Cage series. In general, I find the NYC setting in the Marvel Netflix shows to be much more central to the general themes, and more integrated into the overall story/action, than the Star city setting ever was on "Arrow". Even in the early seasons of "Arrow", when we got to see more of the actual city and its setting/inhabitants than the anonymous buildings and warehouses that represent "Star city" in the later seasons, Green Arrow's "protected city" was never really given the privileged status it has in the GA mythos (or in the somewhat pompous S5 poster). I know it's a budget question.....outdoor takes in real settings cost more to shoot than inside scenes in the Lair (or in that penthouse where half the cast seemed to live in S4!). However, it's kind of odd when the city that the Hero and his Team are supposedly risking their lives to protect/save remains so anonymous and is so seldom featured on screen.

After watching a few episodes. Verdict-It's awesome! So is the music! I like it better than both DD and JJ

If I were to describe Luke Cage with just one word: it would be soul.
