Please don't degrade the characters!

I absolutely LOVE Inside Out, but I was kind of ambivalent about the announcement for a sequel. While Inside Out stands perfectly on its own, there are a lot of directions they can go if they want to show Riley as a teenager.

One of the best things about Inside Out is there are no villains: it's a quest/exploration/coming-somewhat-of-age movie. With a sequel, there will be a great temptation to introduce new characters that "one up" the existing characters, and to depart drastically from the original movie's celebration of childhood.

While I seriously doubt that Pete Docter will ever see this, I only ask that the new movie does not degrade the existing characters, be they human or emotion. It may seem like a stretch to anticipate negativity in a Pixar movie, but these days, you never can tell. And one absolute MUST: soundtrack by Michael Giacchino.

Here's an idea for when the credits start to roll: do the emotions have emotions in their heads? After all, Joy has a crying scene in the original movie!
