The Laws of Motion episode polished race car

Just saw this episode and I want to know more about the polished metal race car that was shown at the beginning of the episode. It was highly polished steel or aluminum and had double tires in the rear. It also sported some really nice wire wheels. It was an amazing looking car. Any info on this car will be greatly appreciated.

Its an Auto Union driven by Hans Stück on the Shelsley Walsh hill climb (where the episode was filmed) in June 1936
