PLOT HOLE IN EP GHOST IN THE MACHINE,

SORRY THIS IS A BIT LONG WINDED BUT HERE GOES. Elspeth had gone missing and her brother in law was a suspect, but then her body was found in a priest hole in the house they were living, as she found it and then was entrapped in it.
The brother in law's daughter was moaning about moving from London to this house.
Then at the end we find out that they moved to that house because the girls dad was struck off over morphine which he had been taking because he was accused of killing Elspeth, and they could not afford to live in the house they had been living in and moved to the house were Elspeth was found, but they only moved to that house because he was struck off and he was struck off because of Elspeth going missing and him getting the blame, so how did Elspeth get to be in that house as they hadn't moved there yet.

The house had originally belonged to the parents of Elspeth and her sister. The sister and the brother-in-law had left and moved to London so he could pursue his career as a doctor. In the years since, the sister's parents had died and she inherited the house. When the brother-in-law's morphine addiction got out of hand and was uncovered, he was struck off, meaning that they had to leave London and move back into the house.

Thank you so much for clearing that up. :)

What is the fascination with naming an episode, "Ghost in the Machine?" There was an Inspector Morse episode of the same name.
