Why can't the live action movies adapt a similar tone?


These animamted versions are not only darker, but they are better paced. I like the Nolan movies, but feel like Nolan's stuff is a little too slow, a little too ponderous.

I agree. For me, the animated version of the Batman character is much more consistent more true to the character than the live action. And oddly enough, the animated Batman is much more attractive and has a better voice...why can't the live action Batman find a "Kevin Conroy"? Does live action Batman really need to sound like his balls just dropped every time he wears the suit?
