A nod to Kubrick?

In 'The Dark Knight Returns', the Mutant Gang are presented in a way that to some extent is reminiscent of the thugs in A Clockwork Orange, in that they are young, post modernist themed criminals, who have a motivation of chaos and speak in a riddle tongue. Thoughts?

If there is a special addition that includes a commentary track then that would be an excellent question to put to Frank Miller (assuming that he would take part).
