hated that all the interior monologues were removed

Some of the best lines from the story were completely removed. To take "I see a reflection Harvey. A Reflection." and turn it into "You and me both Harvey". Ruins the whole scene. Ditto for what led up to that "I close my eyes and listen to him. Not blinded by my sight, I see him- as he is (showing his entire face scarred). And at the end of the second volume where Bruce is standing in Wayne manor listening to the sounds outside at night ("A wolf howls. I know how he feels"). Just seems like a lot of missed opportunities to make this into a great adaptation. And yes, I realize that this is an **adaptation**, but I'd argue that it's far easier to take a comic book and faithfully recreate it in an animated film that it would be a live action film- which always necessitates change to make it more grounded in reality.

I have to agree to a point. Some of the classic ones were removed, but some they turned into dialog. For example, I WAS pleased how the handled the mud-pit / show down.
