Spoiler: I wish they had shown...

The baby. It was making sounds that suggested it wasn't a normal or healthy baby. Sounded like a monster or something.

The baby wasn’t crying like an ordinary baby would, and Cecilia’s facial expression + the fact she killed it would signify that the baby looked like a demon or something

It’s one of those situations where they likely felt the baby would be scarier if its appearance was left to the audience’s imagination . But we can deduce that the baby wasn’t normal or human

Yes I agree, it was more effective to leave the baby unseen - to be imagined by the viewer. It's what made me wish I could see it, but it was a better choice to leave it as they did.

I think it made for a more effective ending not to show the baby. I also liked that the baby's fate was left ambiguous. Yes she raised a rock and brought it down, but did she smush the baby or did she reconsider at the last moment. Who's to say?

I think the ending was Rock-a-Bye Baby
