Having watched the rover and a boy and his dog within a week on complete accident and making certain connections I burst into tears of laughter. It's a hilarious coincidence for me. Most will not get this joke beings most probabaly haven't seen most films.
It has more in common with John Wick than A Boy and this Dog. And it's nothing like John Wick.
shareTonally the films are entirely different but that was not what I was getting at. Both movies take place in a post apocalyptic world that harkens back to something like mad max. A boy and his dog was about don Johnson and his dog, the rover (if you've even seen it) would know that the whole reason the man was chasing down the men to get his car back was because his dead dog was in the trunk the whole time and he wanted to give his dog a proper burial. Considering how below the radar both of these movies are it's pretty funny to me how I watched both of these movies within the span of less than a week and when I made the connection I found it hysterical. So once again I'm not calling the movies similar I was making a joke about the rover being a boy and his dog part 2.

Things humans do for their dogs. And they saw that humans don't deserve dogs. Pff!
