While this looks like Idris has finally made a decent action movie, its a pity that the directors did not want him to use a British accent.

Idris plays a CIA agent, so I guess an American accent is needed for the part..

I get that but
1. You need to be a citizen of the USA not have an American accent to join the CIA
2. There probably isn't a serious reason why the intelligence agency had to be the CIA instead of MI5.
It's not really a big deal and the film looks entertaining regardless.

there is actually a very good reason for the CIA to appear in that movie.
The movie is about France and its special forces, and the CIA is secretly surveilling the country (because the US spying on alliances is a well known fact). The CIA found sensible information and needed to work in secret.

You never saw him as "Stringer" Bell in "The Wire? I never guessed he was a Brit until I saw him on a UK show a few years later.
