Did Owen shoot Nicky because he thought Nicky was about to really tell Garriga the truth about everything? The truth being that Owen is really Nicky's father and the two of them were working together to steal Garriga's EXR data to sell it to the other crews in the race. Or did he shoot him to get out of that situation in general?

Maybe. I think there's a third possibility also. That is, maybe Nicky was on the same page with the TPB and was telling him to just do it bc there was no other out left.
