Has anyone heard if more episodes are to be made?

It has potential with the characters to have three or four stories per year made.

Shetland (UK) does not have a new episode currently scheduled. But it has begun
with the present 2 part crime thriller. If there are any further episodes, you can find them here; dreamteamdownloads1(dot com)

As do I!

Hopefully Ann Cleeves will reconsider and write more Shetland books and if not, they could always buy the rights to the characters and develop their own stories.

You should never accidentally hurt someone's feelings, it should be done with intent and purpose

I just watched the last episode of season 2, after which a new series was announced.

Yes!

But the bad news is that it's going to be a very long wait---they won't start filming until 2015 according to the release. Grrrrr.

The voiceover during the credits said something about a more Shetland to come.

Today's news release on the next series says there will be 6 episodes.

I just heard that Archie Panjabi is going to feature in the 3rd series! YES!! Love her acting!

Don't tell the poor people of Oxford who are dropping like flies, still. Just when they thought it would soon be over along comes Endeavour. The beautiful Midsomer must hold some kind of record.

They got nothing on Cabot Cove, Maine. 22% of the 3500 residents were murdered in a 12 year stretch. I did hear one time that there were more murders on Morse than actually occurred in Oxford over the time course that the show ran.

Probably will ruin it when they bring in Jimmy Fallon for season four to play Jimmy Perez. With his music mocking song outbursts mixed with "hey am I Jimmy Pesto or Jimmy Perez?? I forgot, I forgot guys" or "is this Shetland or *beep* I forgot, I forgot guys"

That would be the worst case scenario for this show
