Fresh faces for series 5.

Well it looks as if it's an affirmative from Foxtel for a brand new season of Wentworth next year!

The show is in need of some new faces. Which Aussie actor would you like to see as new additions to the Wentworth cast for the next season?

My choice: Elle Dawe from 'Housos' (Playing a different character to Shazza of course!)

reply

It definitely need new faces. It needs to a real prison with people coming and going all the time like they did in Oz and Prisiner Cell Block H.

Ferguson needs to go at the end of five. She's over stayed her welcome.

reply

It's not that easy. I know Prison Break had a lot of issues finding a prison to shoot the first season.
As for new faces, all the aussie actors I know are already on other shows.
So go on. Kiss me. Kill me. Do something.

Surely, no every actor in Australia is booked on a show. Get American actors in there like America does with Austalian actors.

Prisoner Cell Block H had a great cast of characters coming and in and out of prison. Some were there a few days, some a few months and some stayed on. Wentworth can do the same thing.

Can Americans even do a good aussie accent? I know aussies can do a good american accent but I haven't seen it the other way around. Besides Americans would rather do US tv unless their careers flopped in the US, it's a lot better because US shows are more popular, that's why Brits and aussies do US tv, besides they are less expensive so it's a win win.

I'm not speaking of an American doing an Aussia accent. I'm speaking of Americans being in an Aussie show as Aussies are in our shows.

Good point. I know there's something about taxes in Australia and I also know there was concern that WW wouldn't be back because of this. This is all heresy. I'm in the USA so I don't know about Taxes over for shows.

Betty Bobbitt (Judy Bryant) is American and was a beloved cast member of the original show.

I just think that so many (particularly from TV 80s-2000s) Aussie actors who are not working at the moment there would be no excuses not to have the cast turn over a little more...
