Local Regal is only showing it twice a day for opening weekend

Not a good sign for this one.

I know this was a Blumhouse production so I thought it'd be a safe bet to randomly make a profit even though no one seems interested in it. I see that it isn't distributed by Universal like most of Blumhouse's work, this time it's a Sony release... Sony aren't as good at marketing and releasing as Universal?

Still a PG-13 horror movie that probably only cost $10 million or something. Will likely break even or make a small profit in the end.

I feel like the concept of AI has already been done in horror movies, and incorproating it as home security just is too silly to appeal to audiences. Not to mention the trailers look bad as well.

I feel like we are looking at one of the worst labor day weekends in years. All 5 new releases have received little marketing and some have been films sitting on the shelf for a while.
