They are 100% trying to set up for a 'big twist' with rey, no doubt regarding her lineage (trying to throw the audience off in tlj) - since they no doubt want their 'I am your father' moment for this trilogy.
Knowing KK, it wont be a 'father' thing though, if you catch my drift.

I have been wondering this myself. Will she be a Skywalker, Kenobi or a nobody? Maybe she is her own father and mother, who knows. I am betting on a scooby doo ending.

shareNo they didn't. Many didn't like a lot of it...especially I and II but it was still true to the Star Wars saga and the reality Lucas had set up.
The story just wasn't that good (III was pretty good) and I think Anakin was miscast, people hated Jar-Jar, but Star Wars wasn't "broken" Episode I and II just weren't the best films. Sure, I'm sure people complained about the prequels some but the Star Wars universe wasn't broken...Disney has broken Star Wars.

No, I won't. I haven't seen Solo either. Since it is the first Star Wars film to ever lose money, I'm guessing a lot of others didn't see it either.
Yeah worded poorly my mistake it was late. I know plenty of ppl who will gladly rant about how much they hated TLJ, but they're too invested in the franchise (since early childhood in most cases) not to see the next chapter. Disney has our wallets.
Lightsaber battle in episode one was pretty epic and memorable and it's lame they retconned D Mail surviving.
I agree. the overall movie was just so-so but the battle between Maul and the two Jedi was awesome. That's the one part of the film I don't mind seeing over and over.

Plot twist musts be built from the very beginning, leaving small clues all along. The moment you reach the plot twist, all those clues suddenly make sense and the whole story changes. You thought you were watching a detective investigating a supernatural case, but you were watching a dead man who didn't know he was dead.
The haven't done that in the new Star Wars. So the whole thing will be something like... throw a dice to choose one ending. Which one? it doesn't matter.
(1) It's Luke's daughter
(2) It's Leia's daughter
(3) It's Obi Wan's daugther
(4) It's Luke's sister
(5) It's Luke's and Leia's daughter after Han went smuggling
(6) It's Palpatine reincarnated
(7) It's a Palpatine transgender clone
(8) It's Admiral Ackbar's daughter but this alien species only looks like a squid once they grow older.
(9) She was a force ghost from the very beginning but she didn't know it.
(10) It's Brie Larson reincarnated.
At the end of the day, you're not waiting to see how the story develops, but what ending the screenwriters decided to pick. And that breaks immersion.
