Satisfied conclusion

I was satisfied with the conclusion but disappointed that the movie didn't have the balls to kill Rey and give us the rise of the SKYWALKER. Ben Solo being the true successor and going from a Sith to a Jedi was a perfect side-plot that should have been the ending. Overall the movie was good, a bit rushed but good. They had to put every planet and every character in the movie.

You don't sound like you're satisfied at all.

All I wanted to say it wasn't good or bad it was satisfying compared to the last movie they did and I gave my opinion how I would have done it.

I get what you are saying. They wrapped it up the best they could given the typical time constraints of a movie. I also felt it was a satisfactory end, but that isn't saying it was perfect by any stretch.

I'm satisfied this wreck of a trilogy is over with.

reply

They should have just called the film ' The Rise of Palpatine ' then.

I went in with very low expectations but was actually surprised I enjoyed a good portion of it. It's still kind of a mess and very rushed, but forced to choose a movie to watch..I'd still watch this over the Prequels.

Ben Solo being the true successor and going from a Sith to a Jedi was a perfect side-plot that should have been the ending.

Many in the audience would not have liked that. Killing off a character many liked (Rey, who fought so hard and did many good deeds), only to give the mantle to the genocidal killer would turn off millions of fans. Kylo also isn't as cool as Vader, so Kylo's turn to redemption would never have sit as well. Furthermore, the movie didn't do a very good job imo of showing why he turned. All because mom died ("Ben?") and that did it? At least Vader gradually understood Palpatine was the ultimate galactic manipulative jerk and was literally killing his son before his eyes...who moments before had many heartfelt conversations with him. That change made sense.

I could not see Rey dying and Kylo being the hero. The Resistance was reduced to a scant few all because of Kylo's actions and decisions. Even the Jedi ghosts would be looking down and going "EWW".
