Anchor Bay picks up "I Spit On Your Grave: Vengeance is Mine"

For better or worse, Anchor Bay has picked up yet another I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE film, and this time it has an even longer title. If you’ve lost track, I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE: VENGEANCE IS MINE marks the third chapter in CineTel Films’ horror franchise and will act as a continuation of the 2010 storyline, which is currently in post-production, expected to be released later this year.

"We had a great experience working with Lisa and Paul at CineTel on the first two installments of I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE and look forward to partnering with them again to grow the franchise,” said Kevin Kasha, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Acquisitions at Starz. “We know they will deliver another visceral chapter in the series that will thrill fans.”

“Anchor Bay has deep roots in the horror genre and has proven to be an incredible partner for us, as evidenced by the success of the first two films,” noted CineTel Films producer Lisa Hansen. “The fan base for horror films continues to be incredibly strong and Anchor Bay shares our commitment to meet the insatiable demand for truly horrific, heart-pounding entertainment.”

Based on Meir Zarchi’s 1978 version, Anchor Bay Entertainment released I SPIT ON OUR GRAVE in 2010 and I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE 2 in 2013.

Any news on the plot? They've already tackled home invasion and human trafficking, so I wonder what they'll do next. Drug cartels?

It'll be a direct sequel to the Remake:

R.D.Braunstein is directing the film and Sarah Butler reprises her role from 2010’s I Spit On Your Grave!

This latest installment is a continuation of the 2010 storyline. The third film, our sources tell us, will focus on a serial killer that uses a crisis hotline to target rapists. One of the counselor’s has a dark past, which sends Detectives sniffing in her direction — but is she the killer they’re looking for?

If Sarah Butler is returning, then I'm sooooooo down with this. Plus based on that synopsis, it sounds like it will still thematically deal with rape but hopefully not show it. It's the third damn film, we get it, and to show another 10 minute long rape would be distasteful ! And that's saying something!

It's is supposed to come out this October but the news has been very slow. I really want to know more details regarding the plot.

It would be great if the Katie character made an appearance with Sarah Butler's character. At least in a cameo. That would be awesome...

The movie was a disappointment. It didn't have the same intensity as the first two. It is just reckless.

It's about to come on STZSU again, but I've only seen bits and pieces in the past! I was surprised how old and heavy Doug McKeon had gotten! He was such a hottie years ago! Shame! 
